Reasons why I think the baby is a boy...

I know that all of my faithful followers (aka mom and dad...and sometimes Jeffrey - if forced) have been waiting for my next post - and here it is! I have decided to explain why I think this baby will be a boy. There are plenty of old wives' tales that supposedly predict whether the baby will be a boy or a girl....of course I TOTALLY believe all of them! =)

According to these age old wives I am going to have a boy. Here are a few of the reasons why (don't worry....they are all family friendly - I have left some of the more "questionable" ones off - but see me if you're interested!)

1. Since I did not experience morning sickness (thank you, Lord) - it will be a boy.
2. The pencil test (thread through a pencil eraser held over my wrist) moved in circles, not side to side - so it will be a boy.
3. I have been craving meats and cheeses - it will be boy.
4. If the dad-to-be (to save him some embarrassment over this one I will not mention his name) is gaining weight along with the me - it will be a boy.
5. I have been craving salty foods - it's a boy
Who would have thought predicting the sex of a baby was so easy?

We will find out for sure on Monday, but no matter what - boy or girl, we know this baby is a gift from God and we are thrilled just to receive him or her!
"For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well."
Psalm 139:13, 14

Preggo Post #1

Here is the first blog on our page! I am hoping to keep it updated throughout the pregnancy and continue posting once the baby is born....we'll see how it goes.
Today I am 16 weeks and 5 days pregnant and feeling great! I know that the Good Lord will not give me more than I can handle and He definitely knows that I am a wimp - big time! Jeffrey and I would pray every day (at least once a day) that I wouldn't get sick...well, to be honest...that I wouldn't throw up. Let's just say that I have an INTENSE phobia of throw up (surprising since I am a kindergarten teacher) so intense that I could (should) probably be medicated.... anyway, we prayed everyday for "no throw up or nausea" and hallelujah He answered our prayers!

At this point I have not had too many pregnancy cravings (although Jeffrey would probably disagree) unless you count clementines, mandarin oranges, steak, and the ultimate health food....McDonald's (it's organic....right??). We have been to the doctor multiple times (partly because of our difficulties in the past and partly because I am a hypochondriac) and have had two ultrasounds. Be sure to check out the pictures of our growing baby (and my growing belly...)
