weekend...

Here's a quick recap of our weekend with pics from my iphone....

our weekend started early with a concert in the park on Thursday night where both girls sported their hats, but one girl did a little more dancing than the other ;-)

Friday, we hung around the house and Libbi got into some markers.

She wore her bathing suit for no other reason except for the fact that she just wanted to.
She decided not to nap, so we ended up going to the pool instead (where she wore a different bathing suit)

Laney napped while Libbi and I swam

We had a lazy Saturday morning and Laney enjoyed every bit of it.

After naps, we went to Monkey Joe's so Libbi could do some jumping

It was sooooo hot and sooooo crowded, but she still had fun

Laney wasn't really sure what to think :)

Sunday, we went to church and then hung out at home.
The girls and I went to the grocery store while Jeffrey had his (two) fantasy football draft(s).
Libbi chilled out on her "pillow surprise"

and Laney laughed....a lot! :)
(FYI....please ignore my annoying tickle noises and just focus on the laughing baby) ;-)
Finally, tomorrow is Laney's appointment with the pediatric plastic surgeon.  We would love it if you would say a little prayer for her and for the doctors that will be examining her.  Thank you!

weekend recap....

here are some pics from our weekend...some of them are courtesy of my trusty 'ole phone.  what would i do without it? :) others are just random pics i took, but unfortunately, i didn't take near as many as i usually do! :)

Friday morning we ran some errands and then just hung around the house.  Jeffrey needed some new socks, so we went to TJ Maxx to buy some.  Libbi kept saying, "TEE JAY MAXXXXX!" and she thought it was hilarous.  She loved getting to help pick out some socks for Daddy. :)  This was not her first time at TJ Maxx, but apparently this trip seemed to leave an impression on her.  Later that day, she kept asking to go to "Max's House"....I finally figured out that she was talking about TJ Maxx - haha!  And Friday night when she was saying her prayers, she thanked Jesus for "Da-Da's new socks!" ;-)
Anyway, after we went to TJ Maxx, we stopped in McDonald's so Libbi could play on the playground.  I know it's probably a little tacky, but we didn't even eat there - she just played. :)
Photobucket
It's just so hot outside these days - too hot to go to the park - and I hate to make her stay inside all day.  So we stopped by McDonald's for a little sliding and climbing. A free playground and a tired toddler are a pretty good exchange for some germ infested McDonald's playground equipment.  :)
Photobucket
Friday night was date night!!  My mom and dad came over and stayed with the girls while Jeffrey and I went out to eat.  We went to Stoney River - one of my favorite places!  It was so good and I ate way too much - whew!  We had a good time talking and laughing and not worrying about crying babies or screaming toddlers. :)

Saturday morning Jeffrey played golf, so it was just us girls.  Libbi got a kick out of saying, "no boys!" We met my mom and Aunt Mannie and cousin Blakeley at the mall, so the "no boys!" streak continued.
Photobucket
We did a little bit of shopping and Libbi and Blakeley got to ride the carousel.  I'm not sure if Libbi was more excited about riding the horse or about Blakeley riding beside her.  My poor mom was a nervous wreck, because Libbi did NOT want her holding on to her at.all!  Every time my mom would try to put her hands up to steady her, Libbi would swat them away - hahah - that girl is SO stubborn! :)

We went home for naps, only Libbi didn't take one - sigh....  She did stay in her bed and talk to herself for close to two hours, so I can't complain.  When she started yelling, "Momma!  Get me OUT!!!!" I figured naptime was probably not gonna happen.
When Jeffrey got home, we loaded up the girls and walked to the pool.

Unfortunately, about 15 minutes later it started thundering, so our pool trip was short lived.
We came home, waited out the rain, and then Jeffrey cooked out hamburgers and we had a nice relaxing night.

Sunday morning was nothing short of miraculous.  Libbi slept until 9:00!!  Y'all, that has never ever happened her entire life.  Of course, Jeffrey and I both were up, showered, and ready to go to church and both girls were still snoozin' away.  Isn't that the way it always happens?!?  Usually, we're tag teaming the girls and trying our best to rush through showers, breakfast, and getting ready just so we can get out the door on time.  But this morning, we were both ready and just sitting around waiting for the babies to wake up!
Photobucket
We decided to go to late church since there was no way we could make it to early service.
Jeffrey picked us up some breakfast and we had a good time eating together before church.  Laney was awesome during the service (and I didn't get paged like last time!) and so was Libbi.  Unfortunately, the walk to the car was a different story, but it was pretty much expected.  Libbi acts like she's dying a slow death if she can't play on the playground after church.  Since she's moved to a new classroom now that she's two, she has a perfect view of the playground, so there's no distracting her from it anymore.  She screamed the whole way to the car, "ONE MORE SLIDE!" even though she hadn't even done it once, she still wanted to go "just one more time" haha!

We went home, ate lunch, and attempted naps.  And again, Libbi stayed in her room and talked to herself for over two hours.  I sure hope this is not becoming a trend.  She NEEDS a nap.  I NEED for her to take a nap :)  When she came downstairs after her "one-woman-show" she and I went to the grocery store.  The rest of the evening was pretty uneventful.  Just the usual routine of supper, baths, and bedtime.

We don't have too much planned for this upcoming week, but I'm sure we will come up with something. :)  It will more than likely involve a couple of trips to a playground (at a restaurant that we may or may not eat at), an attempt to go to the pool, and our weekly trip to the mall.  Maybe it will cool off enough for us to actually play outside this week! :)

weekend...

our weekend was low key.  and a little bit shameful....I'll get to that part in a minute.....

Friday we went to the mall.  We were in the market for some new shoes and some new pajamas (both for Libbi) - but we didn't find either.  It was okay though, because Libbi LOVES going to the mall. Since it has been so hot here we go to the mall at least once, sometimes twice a week.  It's a nice cool place where she can walk around (or run like crazy) and there are lots of free/cheap things for her to do.  She loves the merry-go-round, but she is content to just look at it (Free!).  She loves to see the dog in Old Navy (Free!) and to play on the little rides that are out in the mall (Free...because she doesn't want them to move - she just wants to climb in and out of them, so I don't have to pay a dime).  We usually get a cookie and sometimes a balloon and our trip is complete.
Photobucket
this is how our morning started out....

Libbi and her extended family. :)
I love that I have to basically break her wrist to get her to hold my hand, yet she willing holds the hand of a random mannequin.....
When we got home, it was time for naps.  I told Libbi that Mimzy was coming to pick her up after nap, so she went right to sleep without a peep.  Like a kid going to bed at dusk on Christmas Eve so Santa would hurry up and get here, she was down in her bed in a flash!  She woke up from her nap right after Jeffrey got home from work and as soon as he walked into her room to get her she said, "Mimzy's House!"  I swear that she has the memory of an elephant.  You tell her something once and she remembers it forever!  It's almost scary (and sometimes annoying - ha!) because she literally remembers everything you tell her!  She spent the night with my mom and dad while Jeffrey, Laney, and I went to Longhorn's for supper - so good!!

Saturday, Libbi came back from my mom and dad's around lunchtime and went down for her nap shortly after.  When she woke up, I was bored and a little stir crazy.  I was really wanting to get out of the house.  So I suggested that we go up to the Town Center.  Now, here's the shameful part of our weekend.  Yes, we went to town center, and yes, they were hosting a special event, and yes, it just so happened to be.... "Beerfest."  I'm ashamed to admit that I knew about this beforehand and I still packed up my two babies and took them to Beerfest at the Park.  Now, in my defense, when we drove by they had lots of bounce houses set up.  bounce houses, y'all!!  So of course I thought that it would be child friendly.  A lot of times the park hosts events, but they are family events.  I thought that this might be one of them.  I know that it was called Beerfest and any normal person might think otherwise, but those darn bounce houses just totally threw me off!
Photobucket
little sister was shocked!
So Jeffrey and I walked our two innocent babies through the park to the bounce houses (which were outside of the barricaded beer area, mind you).  Should I have been surprised that Libbi was the ONLY child at these bounce houses?  She had a great time :)
After Libbi got stuck and Jeffrey had to retrieve her, we decided to head over to the cupcake shop.  On the way there we may or may not have passed at least two people throwing up, one person having water poured on his head, and still another completely laid out on the sidewalk surrounded by cups.  I was mortified. Once inside the cupcake shop, we ordered our cupcakes (to go) but not before some guy came in carrying a bag of sand that he dumped on the floor much to his friends dismay.  I'm not sure what I expected from Beerfest, but it was definitely not this.  Luckily, Libbi was oblivious.  I was so embarrassed.  It's all those stupid bouncy houses' fault!  They totally made me believe that this was going to be kid-friendly.  I mean, seriously - why would you have inflatables if you don't want CHILDREN to jump in them?!?!
After that humbling experience, we went home and ordered pizza so I wouldn't have to show my face around town - ha!  Oh well, at least we got a cupcake out of it! :)
Photobucket
hopefully she's not still mad at me.... ;-)
Sunday morning we went to church (so I could pray for forgiveness for Saturday's fiasco - ha!)  I left Laney in the nursery for the first time and also got paged to come get her for the first time. :)  She was fine, just hungry; so I fed her in the nursing suite during the end of the service and then met Jeffrey and Libbi on the playground.  The Lord was gracious to us on this day and Libbi left the playground without any tantrums - thank you, Jesus!  Jeffrey cooked out when we got home and we had a nice Sunday lunch together.  We all napped and when Laney and I woke up, we went to the store and Jeffrey and Libbi went to the pool.  After supper and baths, it was time for bed.  Our weekend was a memorable one, but hopefully no one was permanently scarred! ;-)

weekend...

first off..... i finally got a little makeover for the blog - it was long overdue!  i changed up the name a bit so we could include our little laney love and any other future tippins bambinos that may come along :)  it is still the same blog address, so hopefully it won't be too confusing that we are now, "total tippins takeover" aka the blog formerly known as, "live.laugh.love...and libbi!" :)
be sure to grab the new button and add our new name to your blogroll!  i have to thank leslie for another amazing makeover...be sure to head over to sweetie baby's custom design blog and check out her work!

.....now on to the weekend.....

Friday: Libbi woke up early (she's been an early riser the past couple of weeks - ugh!) so we were up and at 'em by 6:45.  We had a lazy morning around the house and I cleaned up in the living room and dusted and vacuumed while Laney napped and Libbi played.
Photobucket
We got ready and went to storytime at the library, which is always an adventure.  Libbi loves it, but sometimes she thinks she is running the show.
Photobucket
so excited!

Photobucket
laney was excited, too - ha!

We typically sing a few songs, read a few books, and then there is always a hands-on activity.  It could be anything from bubbles to instruments.  This particular day they passed out scarves and the kids danced with them.

When it's over, we usually go into the library and Libbi reads some books and plays on the computers for a little while.

After storytime, Jeffrey met us at chick-fil-a for lunch since he only had to work a half-day.  Libbi was pretty well behaved and we enjoyed our lunch together.
Photobucket
We had to hurry back home because the plumber was finishing up (we had a busted pipe) and we needed to get home to pay him (fun times!)  Libbi napped and Jeffrey and I just hung out and watched tv and loved on Laney.  When Libbi woke up, we decided it would be a good idea to go to the mall.  Jeffrey got an ipad for father's day and he needed a new case for it.  Libbi usually loves the mall ("maaaaw") because she can ride the horses, get a cookie, and pet the dog in old navy - ha!  Unfortunately, this was not a successful trip - in any sense of the word.  Jeffrey didn't find a case, Libbi freaked out, and Laney cried the whole time.
Photobucket
I'm sure Jeffrey didn't think it was too funny, but i couldn't help but laugh.  When he and Libbi rode the carousel, I stayed on the sidelines with laney.  Libbi wanted to ride in a carriage seat so she and Jeffrey could sit together.  About halfway through the ride, she decided that she wanted to ride a horse.  Obviously, she can't get up and walk around while the ride is moving - but you try telling that to a headstrong two year old.  Poor Jeffrey's merry-go-round experience wasn't too "merry" ;-)
he was basically wrestling a bear the second half of the ride.

We made a quick exit from the mall and stopped to get dinner on the way home.  After dinner, baths, and playtime it was early to bed for everyone!

Saturday:  Jeffrey golfed early saturday morning and of course, Libbi was up at the crack of dawn.  We hung around the house for a little while and then headed out to Target.  I bought Libbi a puddle jumper for the pool and some leggings that were on sale.  We came home and my parents brought over some furniture for Laney's room (which is still a MAJOR work in progress....).  Libbi was a great assistant - and Laney mostly supervised. Laney has started smiling a lot and it is so much fun to watch her little face light up.  I've been trying to catch a smile on camera, but I'm so busy staring at her and making goofy faces that I forget to take a picture! :)
Photobucket
Libbi went down for a nap right after Jeffrey got home and I showered and got ready since we were going on a date!  When Libbi woke up, she was SO excited that Buddy and Mimzy were coming over again!  She's so funny, because she will wait by the door and look out the window until she sees them coming and then she ruuuuuuuuuns and hides face down in her chair as soon as they come in the house.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Jeffrey and I went to dinner and a movie.  Dinner was sooooooo good!  It is so nice to be able to sit and enjoy a meal and not feel like I am having to shovel it in so we can be in and out before Libbi has a meltdown.  The movie was..... not so great.  I'm embarrassed to even say what we saw - let's just say it is NOT something I would recommend to anyone!
Photobucket
Libbi and Laney had a great time with Buddy and Mimzy and they were both asleep when we got home (the girls, not Buddy and Mimzy).
Thank you, Mom and Dad! :)
Photobucket
Sunday:  We made our return to church!!  We woke up early (as usual!) and headed out to church for the first time since Laney was born.  Libbi went to a new class since she is now a big two year old :(
Photobucket
We kept Laney with us in the overflow service since she's still so young.  She slept through most of church (whew!) and Libbi loved her new class (woohoo!)  We made a quick stop at the playground on the way out and an even quicker exit since somebody was falling apart at the seams.
Photobucket
We came home and Jeffrey and I made baked ziti for lunch.  The girls all took a nap while Jeffrey held down the fort.
When Libbi woke up from her nap, I took her to the pool to try out her new puddle jumper....and it was a success!!
Photobucket
Photobucket
she loved it and was "swimming" all over the place :)
We came home and ate supper and then played until bedtime.  Jeffrey has Monday off since it is the fourth, so we're going to have another fun-filled-family day! More than likely we'll be spending it somewhere indoors since it is going to be so HOT!
Hope y'all had a great weekend and have a wonderful 4th of July!! :)
