shoes...

"I did not have three thousand pairs of shoes, I had one thousand and sixty." ~Imelda Marcos

This is the first fall that I've had to buy shoes for Libbi and it is seriously stressing me out!  Summer was so much easier!  She had one pair of white patent shoes that she basically wore with everything and then a pair of "play shoes" for when she was feeling a little more casual :)

She wore her white pedipeds with everything and we loved them.

They served us well, but they were packed away on Labor Day Eve.  She is quickly outgrowing her play shoes.  They are okay for now, but when the weather turns cooler, there is no way she can wear socks with them and still get them on her feet (besides the fact that they would look weird with socks/tights....)

So, here is my dilemma. I felt like with summer, we were set with our two pairs of shoes, but  with Fall, I feel like she needs more.

She has a pair of pink shoes....

and a pair of brown shoes.

But, now I feel like she needs black shoes (for church), more casual shoes, and play shoes - ugh!  I also really want to get her a pair of boots, but I have not been able to find any that  I like or that are even remotely appropriate.

I'm sorry, but I am NOT putting my (almost) 15 month old child in HEELS!  Yes, these infant/toddler boots have HEELS.  What?!?!
It gets better....on one website (which shall remain nameless) that I was perusing, there was an option (in the Infant/Toddler Shoe Section mind you) for....get this.....THIGH HIGH BOOTS!  Are you kidding me?!?

Never mind the fact that Libbi's thighs are ham-hocks and would probably be pinched to no end by any sort of boot/zipper even attempting to go over her thigh....I just don't think "thigh-high-boots" are appropriate..... unless you're at the VMA's.  Just my personal opinion.

I think I've narrowed my list down to a few "staple" colors.  The pink and brown shoes that we already have....

then some black patent shoes for church:

a "fun" pair for when she's feeling a little sassy (which is pretty much every day - ha!)
*side note....these are KEDS!  They sure didn't make KEDS like this when we were growing up. We had two options: white leather or white canvas; and in my mind the leather ones were sooooo much classier - ha! ;0)

and an athletic pair for those grueling afternoons on the playground:
And, if you have any suggestions for where I might find Age/Developmentally APPROPRIATE boots, please let me know :)

And, ask me if I've even thought about my Fall wardrobe.....ha...not a chance! :)
