20 things about 2010...

Since I finally got around to posting 20 Things about 2009 almost a year later, I can now post my 20 Things About 2010.  Enjoy! :)

1. What did you do in 2010 that you had never done before?

Threw a first birthday party, went out of town for Easter, took Libbi with me to a doctor's appt (and realized there was a reason I had never done this before), and became an Aunt :)

2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I would have never remembered my resolutions, but thankfully, I posted them "last year" :) They were: to spend more time with Jeffrey and be a better wife, to quit my job to stay home with Libbi, and to be committed to finding a church home.
I am now staying home with Libbi and we have found a church home!  I would definitely say I could still spend more time with Jeffrey and be better wife.  It is hard (for me at least) to find the right balance between being a wife and being a mother.  Since we'll be adding to our family in 2011, I will definitely make it a priority to  spend more quality time with Jeffrey.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
YES!  We had our first niece....Blakeley Grace!  She was born almost exactly a year after Libbi - there's definitely something special about those June babies! Precious Sophie was born in February and little Aiden was born in July.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No

5. What places have you visited?
Fripp Island, Grayton Beach,....I think that's all for 2010, we didn't do a whole lot of traveling :)

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
purposeful decision making.  I pray that I would be more purposeful in my parenting, my marriage, and my relationships with others.

7. What date from 2010 will remain etched in your memory and why?
June 22, 2010....celebrating our sweet girl's first birthday

September 16, 2010.....finding out we were expecting another baby

8. What was your biggest achievement this year?
Honestly, making it through the school year.  When I went back to work after having Libbi, I had a difficult year.  I loved teaching, but a combination of not starting out the year with my class, some very "high-maintenence" students, and having a new baby that I wanted to be with made for some hard times throughout the year.  There were many times that I wasn't sure if I would make it.  I am proud to say that I did....and I lived to tell about it :)

9. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No - thank God!  Besides minor colds, etc I had a relatively healthy year.  I guess morning (all day) sickness doesn't really count as an "illness"  but, I thought I'd throw that out there anyway just for a few sympathy votes.

10. What was the best thing you bought?

is it wrong if I say, "baby gates?!"  they have seriously saved our lives!!!  :)
and a pregnancy test....it changed our lives....again :)

11. Where did most of your money go?

Libbi! :)

12. What song will always remind you of 2010?
Elmo's World.  Sad, but true.  I hear that song no less than 20 times a day from various toys and elmo dolls.  I find myself singing/humming it 24/7.  "La, la, la, la....La, la, la, la Elmo's World....."

13. What do you wish you would have done more of?
gone on more dates with Jeffrey, exercised more, and spent more time serving others.

14. What do you wish you would have done less of?
stressed about the small things.  There were things that I worried myself sick over that were really not that big of a deal....and, complained less.  In the grand scheme of things, the things that I complain about are pointless at best.  I need to be more mindful of how blessed we truly are.

15. What was your favorite TV program?
Many of the same ones from last year....The Office, CSI:NY, Law&Order SVU, but I will add in Criminal Minds, The Good Wife, and sadly, Toddlers & Tiaras, and The Real Housewives

16. What was the best book you read this year?I

I Love You As Much.  This was the book we read before bedtime almost every night. Libbi loves it, I love it, and we love reading it together.  It may not be on the best seller list or be made into a blockbuster film, but it is a classic in our house. :)

17. What was your favorite film of the year?

I have no idea if I even went to the movies this year.....isn't that sad?  I am admittedly not an avid movie watcher/lover and I honestly cannot remember the last movie I watched (besides Praise Baby/Baby Einstein DVD's)

18. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
This year we didn't do a whole lot for my birthday....it was kind of at a busy time.  My birthday fell on Father's Day and right in the middle of Libbi's first birthday extravaganza weekend.  We ate dinner with my parents and Jeffrey gave me a new laptop - woohoo!  So, I guess I joined the "Mac World" on my 28th birthday. Mainly,  it was spent with the people I love most and that's all that mattered :)

19. What political issue stirred you the most?
There were not too many things that I felt strongly about this year.  I will have to admit I didn't keep up with a whole lot of things that were going on.  It's definitely a goal for next year to be more aware of the political state of our country.

20. Who was the best new person you met?
Blakeley! :)

Let me know if you post your own 20 Things about 2010....I'd love to read them!
Enjoy your last day of 2010....make it a good one! :)
