Mommy and Me Monday...

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?
Hosted by Krystyn

This week's Mommy and Me post features pictures from Saturday when we went to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny...kind of....

We RSVP'd to the bunny breakfast, fully expecting the Easter Bunny to actually JOIN us for this breakfast (hence the name of the event: "breakfast with the Easter Bunny") ...mmmm....not so much.

Libbi was all decked out in her Easter dress and just beside herself with excitement.  When we arrived at the mall (at the lovely 8am hour!) we waited in line to make sure we were on "the list" and to pay our admission.  Little did I know, they did not take anything except cash (apparently the Easter Bunny is still living in the old days...).  To my utter embarrassment, I had to count out pennies to pay for our Easter Bunny Breakfast.  I was about $0.25 short, but they let us in anyway (probably because they felt really sorry for me...or maybe because there was an angry mob forming behind me!)

After we finally found our seats, we waited for what seemed like HOURS!  Meanwhile, the Easter Bunny is NOWHERE in sight....

Libbi passed the time by waving to EVERYONE

Smiling and looking so stinkin' cute...

Snacking on her stroller...

Pulling her bow out of her hair, waiting for me to put it back in, and then pulling it out again...

Trying on not one...

...not two....

....but THREE different pairs of bunny ears.

Eating said bunny ears...

Yelling at strangers...

Looking EVERYWHERE except for at the camera....

And, finally, once her eyes started to glaze over....

I thought that we better see what the hold up was.

So, I found someone who looked like she might be in charge and asked her where in the world Mr. Bunny was.  We had been waiting for over an hour and had shared our breakfast with lots of restless kids, but no Easter Bunny!  She sweetly told me that the Easter Bunny would be arriving any minute.  She went on to explain that once he arrived, he would come in and speak with each and every child and that we would have a chance to take a picture of our precious little ones with this sweet fluffy creature.  There was no doubt that it would be anything but magical.

I relayed all this info to Libbi and she excitedly started to scope out the entrance...

Well, let me tell you, that girl was either sorely mistaken or else she was a big fat L-I-A-R!

The Easter Bunny entered in with his "handler" and never even crossed the threshold of our setup.  He barely skimmed the perimeter of our area.  He did not speak to anyone, he did not pose for pictures, he did not do anything (save for a few little dinky 'hops') except disappoint us.

We got as close as we could, but were not too successful in getting the perfect Easter Bunny picture that we (I) had envisioned.  In the blink of an eye, the bunny was gone....well, not really gone...he had just moved over to his "home" where you could pay $25 and have your picture "professionally" made with him.

uh, no thanks.

We'll settle for our less than perfect photos.

And when it was all said and done, I actually didn't feel all that bad about paying with pennies (and being a few cents short!) :)
