a nagging cough...

Jeffrey says that I am teaching Libbi to be a hypochondriac (like her Momma - ha!) but I can't help it that she just has a nagging cough that won't go away ;0)

Next thing you know she'll be pluggin' in her symptoms on WebMD.....
In between coughing, she manages to practice saying "dog" - she is such a little trooper....you would never know that she was "sick" hahaha ;0)

you might be a redneck....

you might be a redneck if....

......you play horseshoes in your living room

......your sippy cup of milk just tastes better shirtless

......you read books while sitting in a box top

......you climb into your recliner from the side (even though there's nothing blocking the front)

......your hair is quickly becoming "business in the front" and "party in the back"

......there's an old kindergarten rug on your living room floor....just because.

......you have matching pajama sets, but choose to wear only the shirt OR the pants...not both.

......you hum country tunes while playing with your toys :)

Happy Wednesday! ;0)

nbdy cares abut pr little "O"

Dear Target,
When selling shirts for CHILDREN that have the alphabet featured on them....please remember that our alphabet contains 26 letters; not 25.  I know that L-M-N-O-P is often mistaken for a single letter by small children ("ella-meno-pee") but I would expect you to know the difference!  And when a concerned citizen calls your home office to report said findings, please, please, please act like you care!  Of course I am going to RETURN the shirt, but I cannot believe that you will continue SELLING it even though it bears what you refer to as "a manufacturer's error."  Oh Target, you have treated me well over the years and even though I love your dollar section and all of your cute clothes, I will now be forced to check for equality amongst the letters (or at the very least the IQ of the songbird) before I make any further purchases.
Sincerely,
Oh nO yOu didn't!

13 months...

While we were at the beach, Libbi turned 13 months old (July 22nd)! I didn't have time to post her 13 month update while we were there, so I am just now getting to it, but not too much has changed in the three days since she's been 13 months old :)

What are you up to these days Libbi??

You weigh around 25 pounds and wear a size 4 diaper.  You wear mostly size 18 month clothes (and a few 12 month pieces).  I have bought a few things for the fall already and even some for next summer.  It makes me so sad to buy 24 month or 2T's....you CAN'T possibly be a two year old next summer!

**I LOVE this picture....this is after a) sunscreen b) swimming and c) napping....your hair was just a little uncooperative :)**

You eat everything that we do, but your favorites are bananas (na-na's), carrots, green beans, black-eye-peas, and yogurt.  I have to say, that you are your momma's girl....you have some kind of sweet tooth!  You love donuts, cupcakes, cookies, and especially chick-fil-a milkshakes (well, really ANYTHING from chick-fil-a - ha!) but all in moderation, of course ;0)

Your current hobbies include:

*Talking on the phone.  Forget those toy phones, you can't be fooled!  You want the real thing.  Mimzy gave you an old cell phone and it satisfies you for a little while, but you seem to know that it is not in working condition and you'd much rather have Daddy's Blackberry.  You have the phone-to-ear-head-tilt-to-shoulder move down pat.  And your favorite person to call is still your Daddy.  You will pick up the phone and say, "hey dad" and then carry on a conversation with him (in your own language....) and it always ends with a wet kiss and a hearty, "BYE!"

*Climbing....on everything!  You climb up on the couches and on top of your toys.  You climb over pillows, books, and boxes.  You try to climb out of the pack-n-play, the bathtub, and over the babygate.
If Daddy or I sit on the floor you will climb all over us like we are your own personal jungle gym. You still love to climb on your chair, and you have since figured out that it makes a wonderful stepping stool to help you get things that are out of your reach.
You especially love things that you can climb in AND out of - like your rocking chair, your oversized chair, and your swimming pool.
The day that NaNa K brought you a baby pool, it started storming outside so we couldn't use it.  I decided to blow it up anyway and just put it in the living room (without water, of course!) You love it!  You climb in and out at least 500 times a day.  You eat your snack in it, read books in it, and just lounge around and relax - ha!

*Giving sugars.  You love to give out those wet kisses!  Anything and Anyone is fair game.  Sometimes we have to tell you to, "Get a Room!" because you get a little carried away with passing out those sugars to your baby dolls.  hahaha! ;0)  Along with your wet kiss comes the accompanying "mmmmmmWHA!" every.single.time.
There is nothing sweeter than your sugars and Daddy and I love when you love on us.

*Dogs....*sigh* ;0)
Don't ask me where this fascination comes from seeing as we do not (and will not ever)  have a dog.... but, at this point in time, every four legged animal is a "DOG!" You love to point out dogs and make sure we see them.  You have two stuffed dogs that you love to carry around with you (one of them was a gift from a baby shower and the other came from a sweet little boy from my Kindergarten class last year, Thanks Zachary!) I am hoping that this is just a phase! ;0)  You love seeing dogs on TV and even the stuffed dogs, but if you see one in real life....forget it!  Uncle Justin and Annie Mannie have a dog and you don't want it ANYWHERE near you.

*Babies.  You loooooove babies and you have perfected your "baby voice."  It is seriously THE cutest thing!  Whenever you see a baby, you get this realllly high, tiny little voice and say, "heeeeeeeey baaaaa-eeeeee."  It just melts our hearts every time.  You love to carry around your baby dolls and push them in the stroller.  You will pick them up and pat them on the back then lay them down to go "nigh-nigh."  Your babies are also the recipients of many, many sugars.  But just like your fascination with dogs, you seem to only have an affinity for pretend babies.  If you see a real baby, you don't want it ANYWHERE near you (or me, or Daddy, or your toys....)

in this particular picture, you're using Daddy's (clean) socks as your "baby"....

*Going "bye-bye."  You pick up your purse (or any bag that happens to be within reach...or anything that even has a handle for that matter) and sling it over your shoulder as you call out, "byyyyyyye" and then you head towards the door!  You try so hard to get your shoes on your feet and then immediately look for your purse so you can go "bye-bye."  So cute!  But, what's not so cute is your reaction when you figure out that you're not really going "bye-bye" ;)

Trying to carry your diaper bag out the door...
packing up your purse....
and heading out the door!

Libbi Jane, you are growing up before our eyes!  I cannot believe how much you are changing each and every day!  I am so thankful that I get to watch you grow and experience new things for the first time - you fill my heart with love and laughter!
We love you, sweet girl!! Happy 13 months!

va-cay....day four

On our last day at the beach, our alarm clock Libbi woke us up early, so we decided to go to the Donut Hole for breakfast.  I am a lover of all things breakfast...it is my favorite meal of the day!  We had heard great things about this restaurant, so we wanted to try it out for ourselves.

Let me tell you....it did NOT disappoint.  After debating on what to order....
I decided on pancakes, Jeffrey had bacon, eggs, and biscuits, and Libbi went with a glazed donut (and sampled some of everything off our plates....these days she thinks she's entitled to everything on our plates....or forks....or spoons....or even in our cups for that matter!)
After paying for our meal and getting some donuts for the road, we were on our way back.  About 15 minutes into our drive, Jeffrey remembered that he had not tipped our waitress.  He felt so bad because she was really sweet (and a new mom, too) so we turned around and went back so he could pay her the tip that she deserved.  He's such a sweet thang! ;0)
We stuck with our tried and true routine of Libbi napping, me tanning, and Jeffrey snacking (hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it - right?!) but not before Libbi completed her important tasks of the day, which included....

playing with a measuring cup...

making and/or accepting urgent phone calls....

and eating some 'nilla wafers.

When Libbi woke up from her nap, we took her out for one last hurrah.  She was okay until she tried to swipe my water bottle and fell; landing herself right smack in the middle of the sand.  She had a conniption right then and there.

She did NOT like having sand anywhere on her.  She wanted to sit in my lap to get away from it, but she didn't realize that when she climbed up on me, she also brought the sand with her :)  She was not a happy camper, so she and I went to hit the showers and call it a day.

Once we got ready for dinner, we loaded up and headed for Pier Park again.  This time we went to Guy Harvey's.  Despite the excitement she felt looking over the menu, she didn't really eat much of anything.

She was not acting like herself, but we thought maybe she was just really tired from all the day's activities.  After dinner we walked down to the beach to get a few pictures, but it was kind of difficult when Libbi was a) super tired and b) hating the sand.  We managed to get a few before she had a complete meltdown....

this is right before she fell and the drama began.
please, get me NOW!!!
and the meltdown begins....
....just call her D.O.N.E

When we went back in, I thought that she felt a little warm, so I took her temperature, and sure enough, she had a fever! :(   She went to bed (and of course didn't sleep A LICK....so neither did I...we had a girls only slumber party in her room where we stayed up all night talking and watching movies....minus the makeovers and pillow fights).
**side note  I really think it is probably her ears, because she has acted fine otherwise (no cough, runny nose, upset tummy or anything like that) but I have noticed her pulling at her ears every so often.**

She still had a fever when we left this morning, so we stopped to get her some medicine on the way home (which is NOT an easy thing to do with the Tylenol recall!) She did GREAT on the ride home and is now asleep in her own bed.  Hopefully she will feel better when she wakes up in the morning, but I am sure we will be making another trip on Monday..... only this time it will be a trip to the Doctor!

Lesson of the day:
Vacation is great, but there's no place like HOME! ;0)
