homebound....

The weather has been gloomy and we haven't really done much of anything the past few days.  The only times we've left the house were to go to church and chick-fil-a (obviously we have priorities) ;0)

Monday was stormy and we were inside all day.  Luckily, my mom came over to keep us company.  She broke her wrist over the weekend, so she came over to hang out until she had to go to the orthopedist and get her cast. Libbi had a new "trick" that she kept doing yesterday.  It is probably my least favorite.  She kept holding her breath until her face would turn purple and then she would crack up like she thought it was the most hilarious thing.  Unfortunately, she made this ridiculous looking face while she was doing it, so as hard as I tried not to, I couldn't help but laugh, too.  In turn, she continued to do it, because she knew it made me laugh.  I thought for sure she would pass out.

Jeffrey and I went to a small group mini-session at church last night.  It lasted until 8:30 and sadly enough, I think that's the latest I've stayed up in I-don't-know-how-long.  My mom and dad came over and let Libbi entertain them while we were gone.  She's trying her best to say, "Buddy" and "Mimzy" but it comes out more like "Buh-Buh" and "Mimmm."  It's really cute.

Today is another lazy day.  Libbi and I are both still in our PJ's and will probably stay that way for the rest of the day....and yes, we did go to chick-fil-a in our jammies. :)  I have no shame.

Libbi has been loving sidewalk chalk lately, so we use it quite frequently.  I have to keep a close eye on her though, or she'll end up with a mysteriously "dry mouth"....
Most of the time she just puts the chalk aaaaalmost to her lips and then violently shakes her head "no" almost like she's willing herself not to do it. :)

Even though it is "sidewalk chalk" we've been using it indoors.  It's 82 degrees outside today!  (ugh....what happened to fall?) Libbi draws on these cute little pumpkin chalkboards that I've had for years.  I got them on clearance at Walgreens after Halloween one year and used them in my classroom every year during the fall.  I figure if they can withstand five years of kindergarteners, surely the can hold up through the wear and tear of a 16 month old. ;)

Hopefully the weather will cool down again and we can get back outside.  I really hope it cools down before this weekend, especially since Libbi's Halloween costume is a one piece fleece costume! yikes!!

At one point today, I was sitting on the couch trying to balance the checkbook and Libbi walked up to me and started wiping her hands on my legs.  I saw these little white things all over her hands and shirt.  At first, I thought she had thrown up, because there was so much of it, but then I realized it was something else (Thank God!)  I quickly figured out that she had ripped open her ball and all the stuffing was coming out of it.  It was everywhere.  I mean, everywhere!  I had to get the vacuum cleaner and try to get all of it up, which Libbi LOVED!  She is obsessed with the vacuum cleaner and thinks it is the best game in the world.  She will run and squeal and act like a wild banshee, flailing her arms everywhere like she's being chased.  She runs back and forth throughout the room laughing the entire time even though I'm paying her no attention whatsoever. That girl is such a mess ;0)

notice the slight ring of "pink" around her mouth.... ;)
