26 weeks....

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 26 weeks

Size of baby: According to Baby Center, Baby Tippins "now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (the size of an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.  "

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm guessing around 7 pounds??  Not really sure...since our scale is still dead - and I'm in no hurry to fix it ;)  I go to the doctor on Tuesday, so I'll find out then.  And, like I said before....if the number of pounds starts to increase greatly - I will definitely just quit posting it - ha!

Maternity Clothes: yes, please! :) I wear mostly maternity jeans and pants, but a few of my regular shirts still.  Some of my dresses have now turned into shirts - ha!

Gender: Only the good Lord knows....this week I have no feeling either way - haha!
Jeffrey told me I could find out if I wanted to, and believe me, I realllllllly do...BUT, I've made it this far, so I'm not gonna back out now. It's all a matter of stubbornness principle. ;)

Movement: More frequent and more definite.  Mostly at night and in the early morning.  I think I just don't notice it as much during the day since I'm moving around so much chasing Libbi. :) Last Sunday at church the baby was definitely doing some serious praise and worship! He/She was feeling The Spirit move - ha!  Jeffrey and I watched my belly jump during all the worship songs.

Sleep: non-exsistent. I had horrible insomnia when I was pregnant with Libbi, and it looks like the trend is continuing (BOO!) This week has been a little more exhausting, because Libbi has been sick (again!) so she hasn't been sleeping well either.  It's one thing to be wide-awake in your own bed just watching TV, but it's a whole 'nother ballgame when you're wide-awake and getting up and down to get a crying baby. Plus, I usually get up at least 2 times a night to go to the bathroom on top of all that.... :/  Oh well, I guess I'm just getting prepared for those sleepless nights once baby is here.  I feel bad complaining, because we have really had it SO easy.  I know there are lots of babies/toddlers that are terrible sleepers and get up all through out the night.  We are SO fortunate that Libbi usually sleeps like a champ, but when she doesn't, I'm a total wimp about it.

What I miss: Sleep! caffeine (I still allow myself one can of coke a day (okay sometimes two if it's a REALLY bad day, but that is a considerable drop from the caffeine intake I'm used to), Changing diapers without dry heaving, and being able to carry Libbi upstairs without feeling like I'm going to pass out/hyperventilate.

Cravings: This week everything has sounded good!  But, I have definitely had a craving for rice krispie treats!  Jeffrey calls my side of the bed "the concession stand" and he'll ask what I have in stock for the week because I always have a plethora of snacks on my nightstand.

Symptoms: insomnia, shortness of breath, but overall I've felt pretty good this week! :)

Best Moment this week: picking out potential girl bedding and feeling (and seeing) the baby move more and more!

Since I don't have my 26 week picture (like I said, Libbi has been sick - like stomach bug sick - so we've been homebound for a few days and I am definitely not "camera-ready") I thought I would post some of my ideas for the "boy nursery." Yesterday I posted some of my ideas for the girl bedding and I'm pretty set on going with that particular fabric/bedding. The boy nursery on the other hand, is much more difficult to narrow down.  Here is what I'm thinking so far....

I am definitely going to use these two prints as my "inspiration pieces"
They were hanging in Jeffrey's room before we were married and are now in our guest room.

The color is definitely off in these pictures, the mat is more of a navy color....you can kinda tell in this ONE picture that turned out semi-normal....(unfortunately, the quality of the photographs has WAY more to do with the photographer than the camera!)

so, I'm looking at bedding that is in the navy, red, khaki color scheme.  Here are a few that I like...

Of course, the one that I LOVE is ridiculously expensive, but it's not like it's too elaborate, so I really think I can find something similar for a more reasonable price.

I'm still searching, but ideally, I would like to do something very simple (stripes, plaids, etc) in either navy, navy & khaki, navy and white, etc. and add touches of red accents.  Of course, this has all been envisioned in my mind and yet to be seen in real-life! :)  So, if you know of any good places to look for boy bedding, send them my way!! :)
