27 weeks...

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 27 weeks
Photobucket
I don't have a belly pic....this picture of me (sans makeup - yikes!) and Libbi (pre-stomach bug) is all I have from this week... I'll do better next week :)
Size of baby: According to Baby Center, Baby Tippins "weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his/her legs extended. He/She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his/her eyes, and perhaps even sucking his/her fingers."

Total Weight Gain/Loss: well, I got the official number at the doctor this week, and it's safe to say that I will no longer be posting how much weight I have gained! hahaha....I am way too vain ;)  Everyone in my house this week has lost weight, but I apparently found it (don't get me wrong - I would MUCH rather be gaining weight than sick with the stomach bug like they have been!)  I'll just say that I have gained considerably less than I did with Libbi at this point. and that's all I'll say about that :)

Maternity Clothes: yes, please! :) I wear mostly maternity jeans and pants, but a few of my regular shirts still.  Some of my dresses have now turned into shirts - ha!

Gender: Only the good Lord knows....this week I have no feeling either way - haha!
Jeffrey told me I could find out if I wanted to, and believe me, I realllllllly do...BUT, I've made it this far, so I'm not gonna back out now. It's all a matter of stubbornness principle. ;)  There are some days when I feel okay with not knowing, but then other days, if I could order an ultrasound machine off ebay I totally would.

Movement: More frequent and more definite.  Mostly at night and in the early morning.  I think I just don't notice it as much during the day since I'm moving around so much chasing Libbi. :)  When I was pregnant with Libbi, she had the hiccups all the time.  And she was constantly on my right side (in fact, she was "stuck" there when I delivered...) but this baby seems to be a little more all over the place and no hiccups (that I've noticed) yet.

Sleep: non-exsistent. I had horrible insomnia when I was pregnant with Libbi, and it looks like the trend is continuing (BOO!) To be honest, this week has been terrible!  Libbi and Jeffrey both had the stomach bug.  Jeffrey was sick Sunday/Monday, so I was up all night either on the couch or trying my best to stay on the very edge of the bed facing the wall. (To his credit, he did offer to sleep in the guest room or downstairs, but at that point I felt like our bed had already been "infected" so it wouldn't have mattered where he slept - I still wasn't getting in it).  Libbi had many "episodes" during the night (bless her) so she slept terribly and each time she needed to be changed/bathed/and the sheets stripped off the bed.  Needless to say, there was a point where she was sleeping on a mattress cover and a towel because I had run out of sheets to put on her bed.  I don't think anyone has slept well in our house this week....

What I miss: Sleep! caffeine (I still allow myself one can of coke a day (okay sometimes two if it's a REALLY bad day, but that is a considerable drop from the caffeine intake I'm used to), Changing diapers without dry heaving, and being able to carry Libbi upstairs without feeling like I'm going to pass out/hyperventilate.

Cravings: Nothing particular that I can think of....everything sounds good! :)
I was really wanting cupcakes at one point and by some miracle, when my brother and sister-in-law came over for dinner, Mandie brought cupcakes for dessert - woohoo!!  I had been talking about cupcakes so much that Jeffrey thought I had asked her to bring them for me - ha! (btw, I didn't ask, she just knows a good dessert when she sees one)

Symptoms: insomnia, shortness of breath, but overall I've felt pretty good this week! :)

Best Moment this week: Hallelujah, Praise the Lord....I passed my glucose screening!!!  Woo-hoo!!!  I failed it the first time with Libbi so I was super nervous this time, but my doctor just called me today and let me know that I passed - bring on the cupcakes!!! :)
And, having another great appointment.  I was measuring a few days ahead, but nothing major.  And Baby Tippins's heartbeat was going strong at 147.

**Finally, don't forget to check out the Q & A post....I've had lots of great questions already - I'll probably start answering them this weekend -
thanks for playing! :) **
