Are You Ready For Some Football???

For those of y'all that read the blog, you KNOW that I DO NOT like dogs...not one little bit. Not big dogs, small dogs, nice dogs, house trained dogs, even cute little lap dogs...nope, I do not like dogs.

I do, however, L.O.V.E me some GEORGIA BULLDOGS!

Here in the Tippins household, we are not dog lovers, but we are DAWG lovers!!!

Tomorrow will be Libbi's first UGA game...of many! We are not at all opposed to raising her the "right" way and making sure she is well schooled in the tradition of good 'ole SEC football.

We will, in fact, burst with pride if her first words are "'sic em."

Her favorite colors will surely be red and black (besides the obligatory pink, of course!)

What's more important....learning the letters of her name (I mean, c'mon, there's only three to learn since two of them repeat (L-I-B-B-I)) OR learning the letters to the Georgia cheer....G-E-O-RRRRRR-G-I-A....GOOOOOOO DOGS!

I will not deny the fact that she has a bulldog mobile that plays the Georgia Fight Song (granted, it does not hang on her crib because it would not match the decor...and it is not monogrammed...oh, the horror...BUT it does come out to play quite often and if you ask me, I swear I've seen her give a few fist pumps when she hears it).

Libbi thinks that her Papa is THE COOLEST Papa there ever was, because he happens to have the same first name as the Georgia Quarterback!

The word "hate" will not be allowed in our house, unless of course it is used in the appropriate way...i.e "gator hater"

When she is old enough to actually "play" with her baby dolls, there is no doubt that her baby boy will be named Mark Richt and that she will have an imaginary dog (obviously) named UGA.

Above all else, Libbi will refuse to date any boy that graduated from Florida....and keep in mind she will NEVER, and I mean NEVER, associate with any grown man that wears jean shorts!

GOOOOOOO DAWGS, SIC EM!!!

In honor of the start of football season, here is a little collage of some of our family's favorite red and black moments....as well as one of our favorite "dip" recipes, because, honestly, who watches football without snacks???
For more delicious dip recipes check out boomama.net's 2009 Diptacular!

Aunt Mandie's Delicious Dip (I'm naming it after "Aunt Mandie" since she introduced us to this "to-die-for" dip, but you can call it whatever you want because I'm sure it does have an actual name)
Ingredients:
8 oz cream cheese (don't use light or fat free....it will make the dip watery)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 package of toffee bits (I use Heath Bar and it ends up being not quite a FULL package because I have to make sure they taste okay...ha ha!)
4-5 tbsp pineapple juice

blend together with a mixer and serve with apples or any other fruit!!

Easy Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Dip
1 (8 oz) pckg. Philadelphia Cream Cheese Cubed
1 1/2 cups finely chopped cooked chicken
1/2 cup Kraft Roka blue cheese dressing
1/2 cup buffalo sauce (for buffalo wings)
2 stalks celery finely chopped

Mix all ingredients in medium microwaveable bowl
Microwave on high 5 minutes or until cream cheese is melted and mixture is heated through, stirring after 3 minutes.
Serve hot with wheat thins, chips, celery...anything!
