30 weeks....

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 30 weeks!!!

Size of Baby: According to Baby Center, Baby Tippins is "about 15.7 inches long and weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage).  A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him/her, but that volume will continue to decrease as he/she gets bigger and takes up more room."

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I am within the healthy/recommended limits of weight gain - and that's as much as I'll disclose ;) I do feel like my face is starting to catch up with my belly though, I am definitely one of those people that gets the "pregnant face" and I'm not too proud to admit it. :)

Maternity Clothes: yes, please! :) I wear mostly maternity jeans and pants, but a few of my regular shirts still.  Some of my dresses have now turned into shirts - ha!

Gender: Only the good Lord knows....but, I think I have pretty much convinced myself that we're having a girl.  People ask me all the time if I have a feeling either way, and honestly, most of the time I think we're having a girl.  I don't really know if this pregnancy is similar to my pregnancy with Libbi.....I can't tell if I'm carrying high, low, wide, etc.  I just feel like I'm carrying a baby. :)

Movement: Baby Tippins has been a mover and a shaker this week!  There have been times that it is pretty uncomfortable because his/her movements are so strong.  I never felt like that with Libbi, so this has been different.  I feel like when he/she moves sometimes, I can literally feel my stomach stretching and moving - it's painful sometimes!

Sleep: non-exsistent. I had horrible insomnia when I was pregnant with Libbi, and it looks like the trend is continuing (BOO!) Libbi's sleeping has been "off" ever since she was sick a couple of weeks ago, so we're still trying to break the waking up in the night habit that she picked up during that time.  The "rules of motherhood" dictate that as soon as I happen to fall asleep, she will inevitably wake up....

What I miss: Sleep! Being able to pick Libbi up out of the bathtub without feeling like I'm going to fall in there myself, leaning over to get Libbi out of her crib without my belly hitting the side, and overall just not being able to do as much as before.  I get irritated sometimes when I can't lift/move things that I want to. (Like standing on a chair to change a lightbulb or carrying boxes down the stairs.  I don't like having to wait on someone else to do it for me).

Cravings: Everything sounds good to me right now.  I'm in the stage where food just tastes SO good.... (see "pregnant face" above.) ;0)
I am currently writing this while a batch of "break-and-bake" cookies are in the oven (and I'm the only one still awake - ha!)

Symptoms: insomnia, shortness of breath, and heartburn.  I've also had a serious case of "the dropsie's" this week.  I am the epitome of butterfingers.  It is so annoying, especially when I drop something while holding Libbi and have to bend over (while still holding her) to pick it up.  I'm ashamed to admit that I let out a combination growl/grunt when this happens and Libbi may or may not be frequently growling now.... oops

Best Moment This Week: enjoying a batch of break-and-bake cookies all by myself while watching reruns of The Office.....kidding! (mostly) :)
Seriously, though, I was so thankful to have another great doctor's appointment.
Baby Tippins's heart rate was going strong at 156 this week, my blood pressure was great, and I was measuring at exactly 30 weeks. (So, maybe Baby Tippins will not be as big as his/her sister!  Libbi consistently measured 2-2.5 weeks ahead almost my entire pregnancy!)

When I was pregnant with Libbi, I really didn't have that many pictures of myself, but I found one when I was 30 weeks and a few days....it's not from the same angle as my current pic, but I thought it would at least show some comparison....
